About me
Engineer, writer, perpetual debugger
I'm Edwine — a full stack software engineer based in Nairobi, Kenya. I spend most of my time on the unfashionable middle of the stack: the API contracts, the database schema, the deploy pipeline. The parts that decide whether a product still feels good two years after launch.

How I got here
My first program was a Visual Basic calculator in a cyber café in 2014, written mostly by copying a magazine listing I didn't understand. It crashed constantly, and figuring out why turned out to be the actual hobby.
University gave me the theory; an agency job gave me the reps. Fourteen client products in two years taught me to scope work, estimate honestly, and recognise the difference between a requirement and a preference. After that I joined a logistics startup where I owned a dispatch platform that 900 drivers depended on every morning — the first time being on call meant something real.
These days I work remotely on payments infrastructure, and I write here because explaining something is still the fastest way I know to find out whether I actually understand it.
